Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Andres Martinez was raised in Chicago Heights, Illinois, and began his academic journey at Prairie State College. He later attended the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 2024. Following dental school, Dr. Martinez continued his training at UIC, completing his specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry in 2026. His journey from community college to becoming a pediatric dentist has shaped his appreciation for hard work, perseverance, and the importance of giving back to the community that helped shape him.

Dr. Martinez chose pediatric dentistry because he genuinely enjoys working with children and helping make their dental experiences positive and comfortable. He often says that working with kids comes naturally because he still feels like a kid himself. He especially enjoys building trust with young patients and helping them develop healthy habits that can last a lifetime. Dr. Martinez has been involved with the Hispanic Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), including the UIC AAPD Chapter.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Martinez enjoys traveling, staying active, and spending time with family and friends. During the Chicago summers, you might even catch him riding his bike along the Lake Michigan lakefront trail. He enjoys exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and making the most of Chicago when the weather cooperates.
